The blood vessels of the upper arm
The triangular bone is the scapula. It is joined to the upper arm bone - the humerus (at the pectoral girdle). The larger diameter artery supplies nutrients and oxygen to the muscles of the upper arm (e.g. the biceps and triceps). Most of the " visible network " of blood vessels consist of smaller arteries called arterioles. [Back to Human anatomy menu]
